Thanks for sharing this story. Brought tears to my eyes.

We have a flying squirrel and 3 squirrels in rehab for now. I am also helping a friend with her orphaned baby donkey. Momma passed away a week ago and I brought this little one here to bottle feed him as he is just over a month old. He finally accepts the bottle or two. What a sweet little boy. The owner had surgery last Monday, so I told her that I would keep him til she was able to have him back. It might be awhile as she had hip surgery. I am glad that I can help a little bit.
Bless all of my forum friends.
Cathy

Cathy, can't the donkey drink the milk from a bucket? I raised a couple orphan foals that did much better that way, I just got them sucking on my finger and lowered it into the milk

He might be able to drink from a bucket, but the bottle is working good. He is eating grain, but not too much. He drinks water just fine, so he is going to grow up strong. He is still with me as my friend is slowly recovering from hip surgery.

Junior, the baby donkey is doing fine. I will probably try the bucket tomorrow to see if he will drink out of it as he is taking 4 bottles at a feeding. Nice to see him growing. He follows me and kicks up his heals. Not sure when he will go home as my friend is having a slow recovery after her hip surgery. I will keep JR till she is ready to feed him three to six times a day.
