Wanted to post and introduce ya to the newest member of our big family.

Lately I have been kinda looking for a small horse or large pony, after loosing my Babe. Paula suggested that I check out the local Craig's list, so I did and came across a buttermilk buckskin for sale in northern N M, not far from where the guys go to get he mountain prairie hay I like for the big Minis. So after talking to the owner, we made plans to go see her and get some hay at the same time.

I fell in love with her, as soon as I saw her! She is exactly what I was looking for! Very Happy I haven't measured her, but I think she is about 13.2 hh
Just the right size for me and she is stocky with a nice wide chest. I can even reach the stirrup without a mounting block!!! Very Happy

I think she is going to be a wonderful pony for me for as long as I am able to ride, as she is only 6 years old.

Here are some pictures of my pretty girl, her name was Storm, but. Have changed it to Willow, but I usually just call her pretty girl. :-)

Janell, she is beautiful. I love the pic of you on her as you both look like you were made for each other. You will have many years to enjoy your new pretty girl. She is about the same size as my Gingerbred which is a very nice size, I think. Keep us posted on your adventures with her and I hope you have many pleasant ones. Take care.

Thank you Jeanie and Cathy. Very Happy

Cathy, I don't believe I have heard you talk about a horse named Gingerbread before. Confused you'll have to tell us about her/him, sometime when ya have a bit of spare time.....I know, what is THAT????

And I was thinking that your palomino mare is named Lacey?

Jeanie, have you seen Peanut lately or heard anything from the lady that bought him?

Holly, the girl we bought Willow from, asked me ifi would send her pictures and updates...she cried when we took her, I felt bad, but she is going to collage to be a nurse and working and really didn't have time to spend with Willow, or Storm as she had called her, and I am sure she could use the extra money!

I wrote and told her that we had gotten home safely and she was glad about that and sent me some pictures of her and said she would see if she could find pictures of when she was a foal....hope she does!

Apparently Holly's sister had found Storm in a pasture, she was VERY malnutrishied and neglected and she went to the owner's door and told them that if they did not give that foal (about a year and a half old) to her right then, that she was turning them in for animal abuse and neglect! When she took her to the boarding barn, the owner told her she HAD to keep a blanket on her at all times, as he did not want someone turning him in! So she must have been pretty bad! Crying or Very sad You would never know it by looking ather now, would ya? Smile
Bless her heart. Smile

She sure looks good now Wink I have not seen Peanut, and I called but the lady who bought him was not there so I spoke to her husband. I guess she is working 2 jobs right now and has Peanut over at a friend's place who is working /riding him. I have a feeling he is too fat but decided not to pursue it for now. I really didn't ever want to part with him and it would only make me sad Sad The last time I saw him he was obese and had very long hooves. Hopefully if someone is riding him they are taking care of him. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes I hate selling animals Sad Crying or Very sad

Yes, Lacy is my Palomino Missouri Fox Trotter. Gingerbred is my smaller sorrel and white paint that I got first. Bob named her that because she is not quite a Thoroughbred. She is the one that had the tooth problem, so she has a lump on the right side of her head. It does not hurt her, but it was caused by a cap that did not come off then calcified. I am still training her, but it is going slow as the weather is usually too hot for me and now too cold. Boy, you get over 60 and become such a woose. LOL

I do hope they can find foal pics to send to you of Storm/Willow. That will be fun to see ones of her as a baby. Enjoy her.

Thank you Danita . Very Happy

It's been cold since I got Willow home, but I go love on her every day, groom her and sometimes go for short walks out on the range.... and of course give her goodies, she LOVES her carrots and appls pieces!

Looks like another whole week of cold weather, then I think it will be nice enough to ride and be able to enjoy myself......yeah! I'm kinda of a fair weather rider in my old age Rolling Eyes

Thank you for all your nice comments. Very Happy

David and I went out to the ranch yesterday, it was windy, but nice an warm

He helped me get my Aussie saddle on willow as it is just to heavy for me to lift anymore with my spinal stenosis and the two buldging discs I have now.

We rode out on the range and it was WONDERFUL, she is such a good girl and really seems to enjoy our rides....she walks out quite fast going away and back to the ranch. I was just letting her decide where she would like to go, she knows how to navigate through the mesquite very well. We saw a huge jack rabbit running ahead of us....we rode to the top of the hill, and what a beautiful view from there, but doggonit anyway, I had forgotten and left my phone in the truck. Sad
On the way back to the ranch, she decided to walk off in another direction, so we continued our ride Very Happy

I am very happy with my pony. Very Happy
I'm anxious to get her here at the house, hoping this Thursday, it's going to be cold today and real windy tomorrow....... Then nice and warm. :-)
