I have scheduled an appointment with a vet in Roswell, at 8:00 am for Pippi to be spayed, and get a check up and her vaccinations.

Hoping she will be OK!
please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I'm sure she will be just fine, but I always worry with any surgery. Sad

Our other vet in Clovis couldn't get her in until the 30th. of Jan. ! Shocked
This vet in Roswell has been highly recommended by several people in the area, so I'm sure he will do well by her. We boarded my brother's paint stud with this vet a few years ago, when we spent the night in Roswell, on our way to Idaho, it's a very nice facility.

I did not want to wait until the end of January to get Pippi spayed, as I'm afraid she would come into heat before then! DO NOT want that! Especially since Whiffers is still in tact! We don't need puppies! However I'm sure they would be absolutely adorable! :-)

She sure has wormed her way into our hearts, she's such a sweet little dog, and even grumpy ol' Whiffers is putting up with her now. Shocked Very Happy

Thanks for asking about Pippi
Smile

She did fine, but when they did the heartworm test, they found that she has a tick disease, so I have to give her antibiotics for a month. She should be OK.

She slept most of the way home, and has been sleeping almost all evening, which is probable a good thing.

O! I hope your little Biscuit will be OK!... yes, please keep us posted on him.

We were all up so early this morning, I think I'm going to go crawl into bed.
I'll post a cute pic of the sleepy baby tomorrow.

Hi Janell and everyone,

sorry. i didn't mean to leave you hanging. sometimes this blasted Ipad will not open the forum. other times it zooms along fine. and after a struggle to get on i tend to get busy elsewhere and then suddenly remember ooo the Forum!!! sorry :(

my little Biscuit. Babybiscuitcootiebug as he is called. is FINALLY doing better. not well yet. but better. Thursday Dr. Brian had come out to see Sunny and vaccinate several . and Mac ran it by him if he thought perhaps we should be concerned with Biscuits progress, or lack there of. antibiotic for 6 days (two antibiotics, since Dr. Baron had changed it to Clavamox) and he was still sneezing and lethargic and miserable. no fever that we could tell. he had had one though.. Dr. Brian thought if it were his cat he would take it somewhere else and get something besides a broad spectrum antibiotic. so we called dr. Lamp and were on our way over there and were stopped at 949, the road was closed... and we had to go all the way around to sealy via 36.. so i called Dr. Lamp and cancelled and called our old vet in Sugarland and said this is whats going on and we have him in the car can you see him in about an hour... yep . so the short of it is. Biscuit is on eye drops with an antibiotic in it. it helps clear his nasal passages and puts the antibiotic into his system through the tear duct. he is also taking pediatric Afrin one drop in each nostril Biscuit willing. hahaha if we get one drop of eye ointment in one eye thats great Dr. HAuke said. if we get one drop in one nostril thats great. its all connected. soooo today is the first day Biscuitie has acted normal and been up and wanting to go outside and eating like a piggy.. so he is on the mend. Dr. Hauke thought it was probably viral more so then bacterial since it wasn't responding, but the drops had antihistamines and helped that way.
so he is doing much better thank you for asking. Now if my Niblet would feel better.!!!!!!!
it has been a long winter of snotty noses and coughs. it started with Kisses mid to end of october and has just worked its way throughout the herd. i thought Teena and Niblet had had a slight case and were now over it. NO. Niblet has been on SMZ for 13 days and her nose is snotty as ever and she is still coughing. this damn weather goes from HOT to freezing to rainy and icky.. no temperature to speak of. so Dr. Brian will be out tomorrow to check on her and make sure its just a 'cold' and running its course.. dam this texas weather.
she is eating and running around. just coughing and ice coming out of her nostrils when she does. ewwwwww.

glad Pippi is feeling better!!!! hug and kiss her for us.

love ya bunches
Paula and the ponies

I'm so happy to hear that little Biscuit kitty is finally feeling better!
Are you giving him a little probiotics, what with him having so many antibiotics?????

I had David pick up a HUGE tube of it from the feed store for Pippi, as she's going to be on the antibiotics for a whole month! It's for all stock. Ya can buy it for kitties and dogs, but the exotic vet up at TX A & M told me that it's all the same, just a little different vitamin make up in them.

Pippi licks it right off the tube, most animals LOVE the taste of it.

The hardest thing with Pippi, has been keeping her for rough-housing with the other puppies this week! Laughing the first couple of days, she slept a lot, but not now! Laughing

i started to buy probiotic capsules at Whole Food grocery. and i just open the capsules and give it to the dogs and cats .(and probably should me) the horses get the probius. but i have something new from Dr. Brian that he insists is 'better' . its a powder. don't know how that could be better. but Henri hates it. smells real nice. fruity. but henri and supplements. Henri hates it. Old Baron isn't to thrilled with it. and the girls LOVE it. but the girls would eat ground brick if it was in their dish and smelled even remotely like fruit. LOL

Niblet is doing better. i am soaking hay for Sunny(big old mare) and giving some as well to the tweedlebugs. at first they were like 'WHAT IS THIS! ITS WEEEETTTTTT!!!!" but now they like it and Niblet hasn't coughed in a few days.... this stupid weather isn't helping though.

Glad Pippi is doing well.

love ya
Paula
