Janell

do you think an XL dog blanket would be to big for Baabaa? they are too small for the Dwarfies and wayyyyy to small for MY minis. It fits the girlz , only not around their broad middle. i have several, all a navy blue nylon, but padded for winter, i would be happy to send you one to see if it works on any of your guys, if it doesnt work for Baabaa.

just let me know. Ebay purchases gone awry.

he is adorable in his matching ensemble! funny, you picked the same colour that the girlz now have!!! fabulous minds think alike.

love ya

Paula, I will measure Baa Baa, and you can see if one of your blankets would fit him, I can't believe that he's just about out grown his blanket already! Sad
I bet he's close to 50 lbs now! Shocked

Stacy, I'm not sure how big he will get, the ewes and one of the rams aren't all that tall, as far as sheep go.

No, I don't think he will have horns, none of the sheep at the breeder's have horns.

I LOVE his long tail ! Very Happy he sure wiggles it when he's nursing his bottle, sooooo cute! Very Happy

I think it's a shame that they dock their cute wittle tails! Sad

Yes, I had read about fly strike, but i doubt that he will have a problem, since he won't have all that much wool on his bottom since he is a meat breed rather than a wool breed of sheep....Baa Baa has a combination of wool and hair.

I noticed that the vet said to leave some tail, so I wonder why so many of the show sheep have had their tails completely docked, absolutely NO tails at all?
They have no protection of their little bottoms at all! Sad

David snapped this picture of me giving Baa Baa his bottle this afternoon.
He's getting to be such a BIG boy!

Yes, he's about half way through his third bucket of milk replacer(his last one) and is eating his lamb food very well and nibblin at hay now.

It was a few days late, but I gave him his first vaccination yesterday, then he gets a booster in 3-4 weeks. I need to ask the breeder about deworming him.

Just found this on Valley Vet website:

Lambs are very susceptible to internal parasites, including tapeworms. Lambs should be wormed at approximately 8 weeks of age, and again every 4-8 weeks until a year of age. Signs such as paleness of the gums or lower eyelids, diarrhea, rough hair coat, or poor growth may indicate anemia and can be cause for alarm. Commonly used oral sheep wormers include Ivomec and Cydectin. Tapeworms require using a dewormer such as Valbazen.
