I just noticed that the shoes I made for Nicholas were made before I started adding all the other clips around the side of the hoof without the extension! Very Happy

I am not real sure what happened with Nicholas. I believe she gave him to someone because I didn't know her very well at that time.
I do have the 3 shoes from her. This is what we did.....I had my farrier make some little shoes for him and it didn't work exactly like we wanted so he used your magic shoes on him for his front legs. I really need to get Tank a set of his own so we can get them on the back and the right ones on the front. I am really impressed with how well his front looks with what the farrier did today. How much are the shoes and what do I need to do to get some? I just requested you as a friend on my facebook Belinda Lay Z Acres. I added 108 pics from the shoe process tonight. There is also a video of him walking after what he did. My farrier tried and we both know that he needs the right shoes so please refrain from freaking out if you do not approve of what we did lol. :-)

Yes, I just went to that album on FB, to see the pictures you posted.....

Wondering what you guys used to apply the shoes?

Tank is your horse, I can only give you my opinion on what I feel needs to be done with him...... you can take it with a grain of salt. Smile

I would need to ask him. I think I read on here that you can't use glue until they are 3 weeks?? I am not real sure where I saw that at. He was aware of that so he started to make him some temporary shoes out of plastic and use a special mix that he made up to keep them on but didn't hold very well. He was going to do that and then attach your magic shoes to that so he could glue the plastic thing he made to the shoe. Anyway, he did that and then put vet wrap over it but he only did that to see if he had the right angle and the right idea of how he needs to be to take the pressure off the knee and all that technical stuff. I told him I would talk with you and see what needs to be done to get the right stuff. I want the best for my baby boy.

Well, you have to be VERY careful to use only a product that is made for applying aluminum shoes to a horse's hoof, as they can absorbe toxins through their hooves.

I have had people tell me they have tried using opoxy stuff from a hardware store!!! Shocked ...ya can NOT do that!!!

If you want to order some of my shoes, you will need to measure his hooves for me..... the width at the widest part of the hoof and the length from toe to buttress of the heels. I need to see close up pictures of his hooves , when he's standing on a hard flat surface, taken at different angles, as well.

Yes, we are aware of the glue issue. Anyway, I am using a reputable farrier that would never use opoxy from a hardware store. He has a farrier trailer as big as my horse trailer.
I will measure his hooves and get good pics when the farrier comes out this weekend to take off the shoes he made on the front and see how things are going.
