In August I joined this forum and I posted that I had "rescued" a dwarf Miniature Horse at a local Miniature Horse sale (auction). You can read that thread

. After months and months of looking for another dwarf to adopt (not to purchase! GRRR! Evil or Very Mad

) to buddy up with my dwarf I have decided to try to re-home MY dwarf. I want to do what is best for HIM, even if it means giving him away. I know that he is suffering because I just do not have enough time to devote to interacting with him and because I do not have anyone to put in with him that would be gentle with him.

I would prefer to find someone that already has at least one dwarf Miniature Horse and that has experience with the care and needs of a dwarf Miniature Horse. I believe that my dwarf is an Achondroplastic dwarf and, at this point, he only needs frequent hoof trimming (which I am finding increasingly hard to keep up with due to my work/life schedule, etc.).

I am NOT trying to sell him! There won't even be an "adoption fee". I would GIVE him to someone with experience and/or references. He is up to date on vaccinations and worming and had a negative Coggins in August of 2009; all of the other horses on the property are up to date on vaccinations and have had recent negative Coggins.

Angela, it's Janell.
I just talked with a lady in Greensburg, KY, who has a little dwarf and mentioned that she would be willing to adopt one or more, if I ever came across one that needed a good home...I feel really comfortable with her, as she is ordering my shoes for her baby boy.

Please let me know if you would be willing to talk with Virginia?

Just called and chatted with Virginia....she will be e-mailing you with her phone #.

You will REALLY like Virginia, she a sweetheart, and LOVES her little horses. She not only has Miniatures, but she raises and trains large horses as well. Very Happy

Hello I am new to this forum and the way this all works but I think that it is a great site. I am in upstate NY you would not believe the people who think that I am crazy for wanting these horses and it is a lot of work, but so worth it in the end. They are so loveavble and they know they are loved and they appreciate it. If you still have your baby I wish you the best of luck. I have had not much luck finding people here in NY that want to just find loving homes they all want a ton of money for these horses that they have not properly cared for. The Vets are loving me!!! Razz
