I had a long reply typed out a couple of days ago, but when I tried to type a question mark it all disappeared. I think I hit the wrong key, duh. LOL Been busy taking my husbands computer to the geek squad. I sure wish I was better with these computers, but at least I can do a few things.
The roofs are mostly done. One man did the barn roof, but it leaks. He will be back probably on Monday to seal it. The barn is old, but it does keep hay dry when it does not leak from big hail ball holes or not overlapping it enough. Will be happy when it is all done. We did have a visit to pay part of the bill and we got to talking with the man. He said his wife is managing their new business of selling golf carts and offered us one at a discount because of the work we do with the deer. We paid him for a used golf cart and he delivered it the next day. I love the quiet cart as it does not scare the animals like our big cart does.
The hail storm was a big one. It sounded like pool balls landing on the roof. They were the size of the palm of my hand.
We might be able to release some of the tame deer on a very large ranch. We are working on paperwork to get it all arranged later in the year. We will have to evaluate each deer on an individual basis. We hope most of the deer can be released in the center of the large ranch which will prevent interactions with humans. The non releasable deer can stay here as we have an educational permit to keep them.
My baby horses are doing great. Little Cappucino is still so small and very friendly. She did great with her first trim. Buggati was a different story as he is the mighty stallion. It took me two days to get his feet trimmed. I am working on leading them in their tiny halters.
Bob is doing good. He is getting watching tv down to a science. LOL We miss our daughter and her family. They do come visit and help when they can. We started a koi pond with our tractor. The hole is a big attraction to all the deer. They love to play king of the mountain which is the dirt by the hole. What fun. I will keep you all up to date on the progress of the pond.
