Hi Paula

I check the forum every day, to see if anyone has posted

I often times send folks links to the health info I have gathered here, rather than trying to explain it again to them.

Thank you for being such a loyal supporter of Little Bit's! Very Happy

I'll try my photobucket again, and see if I can get it to load the pix you sent me of Sam's & Jeffery's beautiful new place.

Are they all moved in and enjoying their new place by now?

I would LOVE an update on Jeffery sometime, too, if ya ever get a chance.
Praying he is doing well

I know you are a VERY busy little lady!

Sending LOTS of extra sugars to all the special ones in your loving care
Auntie Nell and the Biscuits

Very busy lately. Last weekend was our annual quilt show. I worked the week before to finish up a quilt to enter it. I was up til the wee hours of the morning, so not much extra time. During the day I was also trying to finish up our new deer pasture. I knew that our fallow buck would be in full boy mode, the rut, mid October as that is what happened last year. He would not let me in the pasture at all last year, so we were adding a new area to move him to. I thought my extra helpers would allow me to finish in plenty of time. Life got in the way of helpers coming, so I did a lot of the 8' fence by myself when I could. One morning I went out to feed and the buck walked toward me, so I got out quickly. I was careful not to go in when he was near the barn that had the food in it. A few mornings later, I went in to get the corn poured into a bowl and here he came a running. I ran around the corner and got out thru a gate. Man, when boys are boys, it can get scary. Called up my neighbor and said HELP. We finished up the area on the inside and moved the fallow buck with his 3 girls into their place. I now feed thru the fence and have a big water tank for them. Whew that was a close encounter that I hope never happens again. I still need to work on the fence from the outside, but that is okay. Need to put up extra t posts between the wood posts and do a little more chicken wire to make sure bunnies can not get out if they get in that area. So what is everyone else up to?

I try to check the forum every day too but just been busy. Cathy, please be careful around that buck, even other times of year. I have read that is why it isn't good to hand rear bucks, is he bottle raised?

Gosh! Cathy, I'm glad you were quick o your feet, girlie!
YES, please be careful of that buck! Shocked

OH! I would LOVE to see pictures of your quilt! Will you share with us???
I would be happy to post it for you, now that I have my photobucket working again.

I'm sure we have all been busy!

We are trying to get this place winterized for all the critters, and are finally getting things done around here! There for awhile we didn't have the extra money to do it and then Wesley and Jorge have been really busy with several jobs, which is good for them! Smile

They now have our 3 sided run-in almost completed, still have a few pieces of plywood Ro put up, and a couple pieces of trim that is being bend and cut for us, hopefully they will get it completed first of next week. They also have the wind breaks up. They still have to make a gate to go out into the back field, and a bridge with rails to go over the concrete irrigation ditch, put up the fencing around the back field for the horses and critters, and a smaller paddock inside that for the Biscuits. A gate leading out of the Biscuit's area to their little pasture, plus a bridge with rails for them. Then out front, they are going to extend the fence in front, with an over-head and gate.

This coming week, I believe it is, the plumber and electrician will be here to get water and electrify out to the run-in, and also in the Biscuit barn and hay barn. WooHoo! It will be SO NICE to get rid of all the hoses and extension cords I have strung out! Confused

David is even going to have one of those little in-line water heaters put in the Biscuit barn, so he doesn't have to pack warm water to them all winter long, like we did last year! He's going to have those faucets put in, that won't freeze, so that sure will be nice, too! Smile

We had the children from the little Mennonite school down the road from us, come to visit all the critters last week.....that was fun. They were all SO well mannered! Very Happy

Wesley caught up Starbuck, my alpaca, and I was so proud of him, he let everyone feel him and I got out the bag of fiber from him this spring, and they thought that was neat, they all took some home with them....the boys were making beards and mustaches with it. Laughing
Starbuck decided to jump up on top of the bales of hay, I guess he was the star attraction! Laughing

I'll post some pictures in a bit.

No not a bottle baby, Cowboy was a rescue when he was 8 years old. He had a blood disease that caused infections under the skin. We got him all well and then bought a female for him. They had a baby last spring, but last fall he was in rut and charged at me. I fed thru the fence. I am always cautious around any wild animal. I have had one tame female rear up and strike me with her hoofs. She only got my arm one time, but now I am ready for her. Recently we got a call about a buck that put a woman in the hospital and her son had to have stitches and yes he was a bottle baby. They wanted us to handle it. We called our game warden to see what he wanted to do and we are waiting to see what the game warden in that area wants to do about the dangerous animal. I have also been told by other people that raise deer and they say that the females can be worse than the males. I think it all depends on the individual animal. I am really careful around the wild ones. Right now I am trying to rest with a knee support and an elbow support. Very happy that the fence is done enough that the rest can wait till I feel better.

I will try to get a pic of the quilt I made for my brother. He just retired from the railroad, so it has two engines printed on fabric with two railroad blocks. The border is of tracks around the outside. Thanks for offering to post for me when I can get the pic to you.

Oh Janell Thank you for posting Sam and Jeff and their new place. Jeff is moved in, Sam is still doing time at MM til Thanksgiving. they do not let you just leave. although i would of. you must give a quarters notice since they are a school.. Sam is upset and just wants to leave. Jeff is still SUFFERING with migraines at least two a week, and a headache all the time. the neurologist has done many tests all negative, i guess thats good, but the poor guy is in terrible pain and its really pulling him down, he is so positive and up beat and this is just sucking the life out of him. They originally wanted to do a spinal tap, then decided no. now they want to send him to the HEAD neurologist in another fort in GA. he can not go to a civilian hospital or doctor. like Mayo. army regulations wont allow it.

i just feel so bad for them. Sam stuck in WV and him there at the place building stalls and suffering. :( keep him in your prayers please.
they (MM) did say she could leave to be with him when he went for testing. oo boy.
her place is with her husband and she is so upset.

their fencing arrived and they start on that, after the stalls are finished. She is still trying to decide on an arena builder.

i too am busy. Henri still has poopy bottom. at least he is eating again. THANK GOD!!! Teena has a goopy eye. DAMN FLIES are back!!! so i have to put fly masks on everyone with goopy eyes. i adopted two more. a little ?? minimal dwarf, he is NOT so little, but sweet and gentle and has teh most darling face. he chose his own name, IVAN. and he helped me name the little red gelding that came with him, he looks dwarfy in the face, and has a cripple front foot, his name is Wendell. they are both darling and sweet and well behaved and i let them out with the girls for a bit today, even Niblet has decided they aren't so bad and has stopped trying to knock their blocks off. oo she is so funny.. her ears go back, her tail starts to swish and she marches up to the offending party and then spins around prepared to fire both missiles... i kept her from doing it to poor Wendell. and she has accepted them. although i do not leave them unattended for long if at all. but so far both boys are just happy to graze and enjoy this nice weather.

Glad everyone is still keeping tabs on here. i miss you all

Paula and the herd

Love the pic's Paula!! Especially the cloud that is in one! Thanks for sharing!

My friend had foot surgery so i'm kinda helping her as much as possible, She runs a doggie day care n boarding kennel and has a few akc boxers that she breeds! I adopted 2 ex breeding females! I am SO in love with the breed! The first one was Nyx, she had to be put to sleep about a year after I got her, she got quite sick and the best thing was helping her cross the bridge :( I miss her so much :( This year I adopted another female Her name is Maya, both were Brindles (My favorite color!) They have different personalities but kinda the same! I also adopted 2 white rats (yup I gotta have my ratties! lol First one is Peace and then I have Serenity! Very sweet! they are litter mates but Serenity almost died and had to be bottle fed for the first 2 weeks, they almost lost her many times but she was strong and made it! I love them! :D Ian my oldest son has kinda adopted a male ex breeder from my friend he is a white boxer named Mojo he is such an awesome boys dog! They are such great friends! I moved in with my friend in January of this year! So I get to help with all the fun stuff if I want! Or just stay in my room and vegg or recoup from all the procedures I've been having to help control pain in my back and hips :( Its actually hard for me to sleep in a bed, but I am able to with the the nerve blocks!

My friend in and family have been such a great support for me and my family! Here is a few picks! the last is of me, I nave now lost over 100 lbs in about a yr and a half! most was from when I was sick last year til this year they found last year my stomach wasn't contracting and pulling the food thru so after trying a few things they ended up having to inject Botox in the bottom of my stomach, now my stomach has shrank due to not being able to eat properly and now I'm loosing about 10lbs each month from dieting which is easy cuz I'm not hungry a lot and I fill up easily due to the smaller stomach!

Peace and Serenity

I finished up my chores this morning and then Jorge and David came by to say they had decided to gather the cattle and separate the calves and haul them to the pens, so I had to hurry and get around, they went on out to catch the horses and bring them to Jorge's place and I drove the van out and met them.

Claudia had a wonderful lunch all ready for us when we got back to the house, then I drove home to feed my lamb and porch puppies, and check on everyone here. Sealtainn was walking all funky on her right front hoof, as she had lost her shoe awhile back and her hooves needed to be trimmed, so I trimmed her hooves and cleaned her shoe up and got it glued back on.

Wesley and Molly are at her folks, they left Friday after school, Molly is a maid of honor in her friend's wedding today. I'm sure Wesley would have much rather have been helping with the cattle today, but......

A couple pix of us on our way out to gather the cattle

Me riding Momma, she is due o have a foal in May and is already looking like a Momma to be! Shea a sweetheart, and I love riding her Very Happy
She ought to have an AWSOME foal!

My Babe developed an abcess in a front hoof after all that rain we had, Doc said he has seen a LOT of them, so she is still recoperating from that.
