This little guy's Momma didn't have any milk for him, so I took him.

Remember the pictures I posted this spring of the newborn lambs, and I was debating whether or not to see if I could buy one and then I asked ya'lls to tell me, NO!? Laughing

Well, ya did a very good job, and I didn't contact the breeders. Very Happy

Well, I like to drive home from town the back way and look at all the critters folks have and noticed that these breeders had 3 newborn lambs the other day! Soooooo, I stopped and got out to look at them closer. The lady was at the barn and saw me, and came out to introduce herself and chat with me.
VERY nice lady.

She was telling me about the one standing closest to the fence, being a bottle baby cause it's Momma didn't have any milk for him. I told her I had raised a bum lamb when I was a little girl and had always thought I would like another one some day...she said, I'll ask my husband, but I think he would sell you this baby......and the rest is history! Laughing

He was 5 days old when I got him and he's now 9 days old and today he gets to have some of his started food! But I'm sure it will take him awhile to try it and get sed to eating it.

I have fixed up the little barn In The back yard for him, I made a divider, so that when it's too cold out at night, I can put my goatie, Bue, on the one side. Right now the porch puppies are sleeping in there at night with him, with a heat lamp. He has bonded to them and is perfectly content out in the back yard with them, and sleeps curled up with them on the back porch.

I believe that he is the Dorper breed...it's a meat sheep, not a wool sheep, so he doesn't have to be sheared.
This is one little guy that won't be made into lamb chops!
I've named my baby, Baa Baa Ganoush.

Having problems with my Photobucket, guess I was lucky to get this one pic uploaded!
Will see if I can post some more pictures and maybe I can talk Jeanie into posting a cute video of him playing.

Your new baby is adorable. I love his name, too. He has the best momma in the world now that will take excellent care of him. What a lucky little boy he is to have found such a great home. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Oh Janell!

you are bad. an enabler you know!!! Smile now i want one too.

Baabaa is adorable! i love the videos you have emailed me. Mac even got a kick out of him playing with his ball. what a doll!

i am so tempted to call Dr. Crenwelge. he is the vet that has bottle lambs and kids to hand out. always looking for parents for them.

however i am holding off. since Mr. Henri is having one of his episodes and has spent the week i was in KY at Dr. Buengers...yep the whole week . He just came home today. happy and bright.. just has loose bowels (very loose, better now) and not eating like we would want him too. AND i am taking in two more rescues. i do so want to open a sactuary. just need to do it i guess.. i am taking in a little dwarf boy, who is rather shy and not as outgoing, he is 10 and has had a hard life. hopefully i can make Mr. Kiplings next 10 yrs happy ones!!! and then a regular mini elder. he has a club foot and is elderly. people adopted all the herd he came in with, but him. and he is such a sweet heart so i said send him. whats one more elder? his name is Solomon. or UNCLE SOL.. Smile we expect them early next week.

had a great time in KY.

hug little Baabaa for me... he is a cutie!

Paula and the girlz

Jeanie, thank you s much for posting that video for me, you are such a sweetheart!

Paula, I'm sorry to hear that Mr. Henri had to spend the week at the vet clinic, Sad but glad he's doing better....he sue has had a time with this, hast he! It a good thing you have him!

O! I'm excited about you getting the new babies! What LUCKY little ones they are now! Very Happy Bless your heart.

You will have to tell us all about your trip and fun times in KY at the driving get together!....when ya get rested up a bit and have the spare time, whatever that is! Laughing

I don't know if you ever received the one email I sent you right after I got the baby or not..... I told ya I was thinking of naming him Baa Baa Ganoush, but wanted to ask you if you would mind, terribly, since you had lost your little Baa Baa? I don't want it to make you feel bad........
I never did hear back from you, and the name just kinda stuck....do you mind me calling him Baa Baa??

I can't believe how this little fella is growing!
His bankie is a good two inches away from his tail now! Shocked

I was digging in some boxes out in the garage the other day, and found this big stuffed pony, so I put it on their blanket on the back porch and Buster Brown and Baa Baa just LOVE to snuggle up with it! Buster is his snuggle buddy. Smile it goes I to their little house at night, but I put it o. The puppies' side for Buster. Baa Baa likes Susie, too, but she doesn't want to snuggle with him.

I feel bad for little Buster Browm, cause the little thing is completely blind, and now I think his hearing is going on him, too....... Bless his little heart. Sad

I put Baa Baa's baby blanket on him, so ya could see how much he has grown, it barely goes around his neck and the belly band doesn't even start to go around him, this pix was taken a few days ago, and he's grown since then! Shocked I do t dare pick hi up and pack hi arou d a yore, not with my back! But he still wants to crawl into my lap or snuggle up just as close as he can, if I'm sitting on the ground. :-)

I have to put the front Velcro closure out as far as it will go on his new coat now, sadly, I don't think he will be able wear it all winter long.....that's OK, I just put it on him when he first comes out of his little barn, probably just being an over protective Momma anyway. Rolling Eyes

He is eating his starter pellets real good now, and munches on his alfalfa and grass hay. He has already gone thru two $25.00 buckets of milk replacer, and since he's only 5 1/2 weeks old, I suppose we will buy another bucket for him, and once that is gone, that's it for him! I have started feeding him 4 times a day now instead of the 8 times,( but the same amount) and he seems pretty content to munch on his other goodies, in between bottles, so that's a good thing. :-)

I sent to Quality Llama Products for a halter and matching lead for Baa Baa, it looks so nice on him and he is already broke to lead! He's very smart and we walked down to the back of the alfalfa field and back, he had fun.

Here is a close up of his handsome little face with his new halter on, I think he will be able to wear it for awhile, as it crosses under his jaw and he has several more holes in the poll strap. Smile
