I can not believe something like this has happened. I don't know the family at all but my mom had been giving me updates until I read for myself what had happened. this brought tears to my eyes. It must be horrible losing so many babies especially in this way. I wish i could do more than just send my prayers and hopes that everything will work out in some way. I feel so bad for the everyone that was involved in this horrible flood. I am so glad to see so many people being so supportive and reaching out to help(: I just wish there was more for me, but as I am only 16 I know i can't really do much.
All my thought and prayers and wishes go out to this family.

Melodie, Bill has expressed several times that he and Wanalyn are extremely grateful for prayer. So yes, you are doing something very important by praying for them and this entire situation. That is wonderful!

Thanks for the posting the picture. It brings tears to my eyes. I know how all of their horses were so well loved - ALL OF THEM! But the Brat Pack was very special to them. I have Bill and Wanalynn in my thoughts and prayers, plus all that are helping them. What a tremendous blessing to have the community and friends pulling together to bring normal back into their lives.

Carol, posting this for you and any other folks who can't or don't get onto FaceBook:

Judy Powell
I spoke with Bill tonight and just to give everyone an update:
They are doing ok, they had 100 people at least on the farm today working, they showed up with bobcat's today to start clearing and leveling, they had 5 teams all over the farm working different areas. He said everyone was so amazing and they appreciate all the hard work and dedication that people put in..he also said I believe it was the highway department showed up twice to fill all the bobcat tanks with gas at no charge..That's Awesome! He said the $5 starbucks donations are still coming in..keep em coming guys that Terrific!! every little bit helps! He said he has gotten at least 40-50 of the $5 donations! Awesome!! He is also getting cards and checks in the mail so keep them coming also!!
He also told me that one of the guys worked all day, then came up to him when he was done, tired and worn out, but didn't want to forget and wrote him a check from his family in NC..(insert cry!) he worked all day and still had enough strength and didn't forget his other purpose!!

The church came at 5pm and setup the grills and grilled for the whole valley and everyone onsite, they brought all kinds of fixin's. They had them sit down and they served them so they didn't have to stand up, they could just relax and be served!!
They had some worship and some gospel music! What a way to take a break from the hard work of the day! The Church's there are AWESOME!!

I think the most amazing story he told me tonight (not that all the others were not), but the stable where the horses are received a pallet of feed (I think 20 bags). He said you would not believe where it came from and who paid for it....a 12 year old boy!! (insert another cry!!) Yes I said 12 years old...the story goes that he had worked odd jobs all week and when he got paid went to the feed store and said he wanted to purchase some feed for Bill's horses, the storekeeper figured it would be a couple of bags and when he told them he wanted a whole pallet they were amazed!! This youngster decided to put the needs of others before his own!! Bill said this says something for the way he was raised and his parents should be awfully proud of him for such a wonderful gesture!! He doesn't even know the boys name...the feed store would not tell them!! Most kids today would either want the recognition or to take the money and buy a video game!! I know this was a heart wrenching moment for Bill and Wanalyn to get this news!!

I will be talking to him tomorrow night for another update so stay tuned!!
Bill and Wanalyn wanted me to tell everyone how much they appreciate everything that everyone is doing and they could not do this without you all!

Here is a picture from yesterday, after so many people had been to the farm to help clean up, and with the big machinery to dig out and level the grou d a bit

Just got done texting with Bill, he says they are doing fine, but they are worn out!

They are still cleaning up, said that they are getting help from a Billy Grahm organization called, "Samaritan's Purse" to help clean up their place.

Bill said all the remaining animals are doing fine.

They still haven't found their Jennnet, Alyssa.

He said they think the memorial is a wonderful idea. Very Happy

Said that He can't post a reply on the forum, and I told him that we all understood that, and not to worry about it.

Said to tell everyone THAN YOU for their prayers and donations.

GOSH! I know they have to be absolutely exhausted! Sad

Judy Powell
I just spoke with Bill tonight and he said to tell everyone they are doing ok...they still have crews on the farm working to clean up, it will take another few weeks to get everything together so they can start rebuilding. He told me that one of the churches contacted Billy Graham who has a crew that will volunteer to come in and clean up, they were onsite today evaluating the situation and they are going to come in, gut the house down to the studs, remove all the mud, and treat the brick, then they can evaluate if they can salvage the rest. The crew will also hall everything away and there will be no charge to the farm!! Bill will have to replace the roof and add electric back plus rebuild the whole interior. God Bless Billy Graham and his crew!!! Oh, almost forgot, the crew also has heavy equipment that will level the property as well as some kind of equipment that will sift the soil to remove the debris. They told him when they are finished the soil will be ready to plant grass...they told Bill if he buys the grass seed they will also plant it for him!!! How Amazing is that!!!

Also, he made a mistake on the little boy we quoted as being 12 years old who bought the feed for the horses and had it sent to the stables...the boy was actually 9 years old!! How AMAZING is that!! It brings tears to your eyes.

Another heart wrenching story, he got a card and letter in the mail from a 6 year old boy, his Mimi gave him his allowance for the week of $10. He told her he wanted to send it to Bill to help him out...He wrote a little note and said this was his allowance , but his Mimi had to write the check because he didn't know how!! ( Insert Cry!)

He said they have been getting cards and letters in the mail, some with checks and some just well wishes...Bill and Wanalyn wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for the well wishes and the thoughtfulness, every dollar counts at this point and they can't thank everyone enough for all they are doing for them! You guys are amazing!!!

I told him that the auctions were still going on and people are still growing strong, the group is growing by leaps and bounds, I told him about the flyers, auctions and all the other stuff I could remember without crying...!

All of you just don't know how much this all means that you are willing to give up your time and efforts to help in every way possible...we are still along way from rebuilding the whole farm but making great progress! They want to bring the babies home, but will start on the house and get it somewhat livable, then add electric fencing and areas for the stallions, as Bill said, 1 step at a time!!
They are taking this in great stride and they are both strong people...I know if anyone can do this, they can together if all of us!!

Thank you all for everything! You are JUST AWESOME!!

Judy's post on FB today:

Judy Powell
I spoke with Bill and they are doing ok today...Billy Graham's group was there today bringing in equipment, getting mud out, they could not believe how many rocks are on the property from the creek, they were trying to clean up as much as they could today, they will be back tomorrow with more people and start on the house, they will strip all the stuff out of the house, but Bill has to pay to finish the whole inside how he wants it!...they did pull up the carpet and padding and there was mud under that!

The crew is doing all this work for free and video taping interviews with Bill along the way, they did some today on the farm and took Wanalyn over to the stables to interview her with the horses since thats all she talks about!
I will let you know the website and the the day when it will be online for everyone to watch!

Bill did tell me that when Wanalyn went over to feed the horses the stable told her she had a donation from 2 youngsters! they took there change and wanted to give it to them to help feed the horses..these 2 were 6 or 7 years old!! Warms your heart that the youngsters are doing what they can to help!! (cry!!)

I will give another update this weekend...Stay tuned and keep those donations coming.

BTW...I told Bill about the auctions and they seem to be doing very well, lost of stuff and losts of stuff out there and seem to be coming along fine with bids! Great Job Everyone!

Thanks for all you are doing and will update over the weekend!! Thanks a Bunch!!

This is a good update!! I am glad they are receiving help that they so badly need. I'm glad that they will be getting everything out of the house and that they will soon get to be rebuilding their lifes. I know they worked so hard to get to where they were at but hopefully with all the help from others they will soon get to be close to that point again.
Love them both dearly - I donated but still wish there was something more I could do for them.
